The auditorium offers 157m² of space for events, plus a further 41m² on the upper floor. It features a public address system, screen and other services, with everything needed to hold congresses, lectures, talks, press conferences, etc.

This 89m² room offers spectacular views over the Bilbao river estuary, the Carola crane and the museum’s collection of vessels. Its unusual layout means that it can be used for meetings, courses, press conferences, buffet receptions and formal, sit-down meals.

The 305m² atrium stands at the heart of the building, and provides access to the auditorium, the cafeteria, the multi-purpose room and the exhibition area of the museum itself. It is an ideal supplementary location for subsequent buffet receptions and coffee breaks at events held at the auditorium.

With its impressive views over the docks and the Bilbao river estuary, the cafeteria is the ideal venue for private parties and events for up to 80 people, providing a striking, maritime-cultural themed setting. It can also be used for coffee breaks and lunches at events held elsewhere in Itsasmuseum.

This unique part of the exhibition area features a large, stained glass panel showing a maritime scene and an impressive, life-sized historical vessel. It provides an exceptional backdrop for exclusive events and ceremonies.

The room occupied by the Port Centre in the exhibition area is an interpretation centre for the Port of Bilbao. It is designed to look like the inside of a merchant ship, and is fitted out with state-of-the-art technology.

The museum’s 20,000m² outdoor area beside the river is home to part of its collection, including the docks with their 150-year history, ships and the Carola crane.

Periodically the Museum receives the visit of large sailing ships and classic boats, from all over the world. During their stay in Bilbao, we offer the possibility of hosting different events on board.
